Roan Mountain Elopement | Carver's Gap Wedding
Kelsey + Coty chose the most breathtaking setting for their intimate wedding — high above the clouds on Roan Mountain, near Carver's Gap. With just a small group of their closest family and friends, their day felt peaceful, intentional, and incredibly meaningful.
Mountain weddings always carry a certain kind of magic, but this one was unforgettable. The wind gently moved through the grass, the Blue Ridge layers stretched endlessly in the background, and the sunset put on the most beautiful display of soft gold and pastel skies. As a photographer, it truly doesn’t get better than that kind of natural light paired with a couple so clearly in love.
Kelsey + Coty exchanged vows surrounded by panoramic views and the people who matter most to them. No distractions. No rush. Just heartfelt promises and quiet happy tears as the sun dipped lower behind the mountains.
After the ceremony, we took our time capturing portraits along the ridge. The glow from the sunset wrapped around them perfectly, creating dreamy, romantic images that feel timeless and wild all at once. These are the kinds of weddings that remind me why I love photographing intimate mountain celebrations — the focus stays exactly where it belongs: on the couple and their story.
Kelsey + Coty’s Roan Mountain wedding was simple, stunning, and full of heart — proof that you don’t need a big guest list to have an incredibly beautiful day.
